## Who it’s for

- You train speed skating on skates with a frame for 90 mm wheels and are replacing a worn set.
- You race marathons or on a track and care about low energy loss on rebound.
- You skate on smooth asphalt, sometimes damp, and want wheels that do not lose grip in those conditions.

## When to choose something else

- The frame of your skates does not take 90 mm wheels — check the largest permitted diameter and browse [skate wheels](https://bogdanca.pl/en/wheels-and-bearings/skate-wheels).
- You are looking for wheels for slalom or the skatepark — Black Magic were made for fast skating on asphalt and tracks.

## Key features

- **Dual Density technology** — The outer layer of polyurethane gives grip, even on wet asphalt, while the inner one dampens vibration and improves comfort.
- **X-Firm hardness** — The hard compound causes small energy losses on every rebound, so you hold a high speed with less effort.
- **Ultra High-Rebound polyurethane** — Abrasion-resistant and dynamic — the wheels keep their properties for a long time in intensive training.
- **Light composite core** — It limits energy loss and stabilises the wheel at high speed without adding weight.
- **90 mm diameter** — It lets you skate fast with low rolling resistance and fits skates whose frame does not take 100 mm wheels and larger.

## Questions and answers

### Are 8 wheels enough for a pair of skates?

Yes, if your skates have four wheels each (2 × 4). For frames with three or five wheels you need 6 or 10 wheels.

### Will these wheels fit my skates?

Yes, if the frame of your skates takes 90 mm wheels. If in doubt, come with your skates to our shop in Poznań or Wrocław.

### Will they work on wet asphalt?

Yes, in mixed conditions — the outer Dual Density layer keeps its grip on wet surfaces too. For starts in full rain there are separate [Storm Surge 90 mm XGrip](https://bogdanca.pl/en/mpc-storm-surge-rain-wheels-90-mm-xgrip-blue-clear-8-pcs.html) wheels.

### How does the 90 mm version differ from the 100 mm one?

In diameter. A larger wheel rolls further after push-off, but needs a frame that takes it; [Black Magic 100 mm X-Firm](https://bogdanca.pl/en/mpc-black-magic-wheels-100-mm-x-firm-black-8-pcs.html) has the same Dual Density construction.

### How much does one wheel weigh?

About 140 g.
