## Who it’s for

- You are buying skates for a child who is learning to skate or already skates confidently on the rink.
- Your child is growing fast and you want skates you can adjust to the foot over several seasons.
- You want a boot that holds the foot and is soft and breathable inside.

## When to choose something else

- Your child plays hockey in a team — choose [hockey skates](https://bogdanca.pl/en/ice-skates/hockey) in the YTH or JR category.
- You are buying for an adult — see [recreational skates](https://bogdanca.pl/en/ice-skates/recreational).

## Key features

- **Boot length and width adjustment** — The double adjustment lets you fit the skate to a growing foot, so it will last several seasons.
- **Semi-soft boot with a soft liner** — The shell holds the foot and ankle, and the soft, breathable interior is comfortable on longer outings.
- **Buckle and velcro strap fastening** — The buckle and velcro strap let you tighten the boot and keep the foot steady in the shell.
- **Stainless steel blade with a hockey profile** — Stainless steel resists corrosion, and the hockey profile has no toe picks at the front like figure skates, so it is easier to avoid catching on the ice during the first steps.

## Choosing your size

The skates are adjustable in boot length and width, so you choose them by your child’s foot. Measure the foot in centimetres, from the heel to the tip of the longest toe, and set the boot so that the heel sits at the back and the toes have a little room.

If in doubt, try the skates on in our shop in Poznań or Wrocław.

## Questions and answers

### Do the skates grow with the child?

Yes. You can adjust both the length and the width of the boot, so you can fit the skates to a growing foot and they will last several seasons.

### Do new skates need sharpening before the first skate?

Yes. New skates are not sharpened at the factory, and poorly done sharpening can damage the edges and make skating worse. Have it done on a professional machine, for example in our shops in Poznań and Wrocław.

### How do these skates fasten?

With a buckle and a velcro strap. The soft, breathable liner inside keeps you comfortable on longer outings.

### How do I choose the size of these skates?

Measure your child’s foot in centimetres and set the adjustment so that the heel sits at the back of the boot and the toes have a little room. If in doubt, try the skates on in the shop.

### Can I return the skates if the size does not fit?

Yes, you have 14 days to withdraw from the contract (return) without giving a reason, and the buyer covers the return shipping. A size exchange means a return and a new order.
