In brief

CCM Proline Skate Guard are fabric blade guards made of dense, waterproof nylon, for hockey and recreational skates. They insulate the blade from hard ground and moisture, which limits dulling, nicks and corrosion. A reinforced, non-slip sole lets you walk in your skates through the changing room or the rink corridor. They are easy to put on and take off, even for a child.

Brand: CCM
Model: Proline Skate Guard
Type: fabric blade guards
Material: high-density waterproof nylon
Sole: reinforced, non-slip
For skates: hockey and recreational

Who it’s for

You play hockey and after training walk through the changing room and corridor in your skates before you take them off.
You skate recreationally and do not want the blades touching concrete, tiles or rubber mats.
You have your skates sharpened at a service and want the edge to last longer between visits.
You are getting skates ready for a child and need guards they can put on and take off themselves.

When to choose something else

You prefer hard, plastic guards with adjustable length — see the CCM Easy Step blade guards.

Key features

High-density waterproof nylon: The material withstands abrasion and the damp of the changing room, so the guard does not soak through from a wet floor and wears slowly.
Blade insulation: The edges of the blade do not touch hard ground, so they do not dull or nick between sessions — your skates need sharpening less often.
Corrosion protection: Nylon separates the steel from moisture in the changing room and in the rink corridors, and rust is the main enemy of steel blades.
Reinforced, non-slip sole: It lets you step steadily on rubber mats, a concrete floor and on the way to the car, with less risk of slipping.
Simple to put on and take off: Simple enough for both an adult and a child to manage.

Choosing your size

The guard should cover the blade along its whole length, without slack at the ends. If you are not sure which size fits your skates, bring them to our shop in Poznań or Wrocław and try the guards on there.

Care and servicing

Dry the blades before putting the guards on — the waterproof material will keep moisture trapped against the blade. At home, take them off and leave the skates to dry.

Questions and answers

Can I walk in these guards?

Yes, off the ice. The reinforced, non-slip sole lets you walk over rubber mats, floors and concrete, for example from the changing room to the exit. Take them off the blades before stepping onto the ice.

Do they fit recreational skates?

Yes. They are intended for hockey and recreational skates. The surest way to check the size is to put a guard on your own skate in our shop in Poznań or Wrocław.

How do they differ from the CCM Easy Step guards?

In the material. The Proline Skate Guard are fabric, made of waterproof nylon with a non-slip sole, while the Easy Step are hard plastic guards with adjustable length.

Can I return the guards if the size does not fit?

Yes, you have 14 days to withdraw from the contract; the buyer covers the return shipping. You order a different size separately, as a new order.
