How to check that a pad fits

A well-fitted pad doesn’t move when you fasten it and pull it firmly sideways. Measure your knee circumference at the middle of the kneecap and your elbow circumference with the arm slightly bent, then compare the result with the manufacturer’s chart in the photo gallery. If you’re between two sizes, take the smaller.

In wrist guards the hard splint should lie on the palm side of the hand. Fasten them so that they can’t slide off over your hand.

Sets for adults and kids

SetSizesWho it’s for
Rollerblade Skate GearS–XLadults, basic set
Rollerblade Evo Pro GearS–XLadults and teens, longer and intensive skating
Rollerblade Skate Gear JuniorXXXS–XSkids

Pads made specifically for the left and right side sit anatomically and rotate less. Before your first skate, check the side and size markings on each piece.

Care

After skating, take the pads out of your bag and lay them out to dry. Hand wash them in lukewarm water and dry them away from radiators; a washing machine and tumble dryer deform the shells and ruin the velcro.

How to measure and in what order to build up your protection is covered in the guide how to choose pads and a helmet. Complete the set with a helmet.

Frequently asked questions

What size pads should I choose?

Measure your knee and elbow circumference and compare it with the manufacturer’s chart. If you’re between two sizes, take the smaller.

Will an adult set fit a teenager?

Often, yes. Knee and elbow circumference decide, not age; the smallest size of the adult sets is S.

Are inline skating pads suitable for scooters and skateboards?

Yes, for recreational riding they protect the same areas: wrists, elbows and knees.

Can pads be machine washed?

We don’t recommend it. Hand wash them in lukewarm water and dry them laid out, away from radiators.
