FR Safety Top Buckles white upper buckles are a set for the left and right skate: two toothed straps with plastic safety-type buckles, two buckle receivers, and screws, nuts and washers. The button in the buckle releases the catch, so the closure will not open by itself while you skate. The strap is 21 mm wide and comes in two lengths: 180 mm (EU 34–37) and 210 mm (EU 38–47).

Who it’s for

You have white skates or a light cuff and want the new buckles to match them in colour.
A buckle has cracked or a strap has lost its teeth on your FRX or FRW.
You have snagged a buckle and had it come undone while skating – the lock button prevents that.

When to choose something else

You skate hard and your buckles often get damaged in falls – FR Metal Top Buckle has a metal latch.
You need an instep buckle (angled, 45°) – that is a different part; see the other buckles and closures.

Key features

Safety-type buckle with a button: The catch releases only once you press the button, so the buckle will not come undone by accident if you snag it on something.
21 mm toothed strap: You tighten the cuff in steps and adjust the closure to the thickness of a sock or pad.
Screw fitting: You screw the set on. Once the old rivets are drilled out, it also replaces buckles fixed permanently at the factory.
Complete set of fixings: Screws, nuts and washers are included – you do not need to source them separately.

The 180 mm strap is for skate sizes EU 34–37, the 210 mm strap for EU 38–47. You choose the length when ordering.

Before you order, measure the strap you have on your skates now and compare – that is more reliable than boot size alone.

Care and servicing

After your first few sessions, check that the screws holding the strap and the receiver are tight. Sand in the catch makes fastening harder – rinse it out with water and dry the buckle.

How does the safety buckle work?

It has a button that releases the catch – until you press it, the buckle will not come undone. This protects against the cuff opening by accident while you skate.

Which skates do these buckles fit?

FR Skates, including FRX and FRW, and many skates from other brands. With another brand, hold the set against the cuff in our shop in Poznań or Wrocław before you start fitting.

Can I use them to replace riveted buckles?

Yes. The old rivets have to be drilled out, and the new set is screwed on with the screws supplied.

How do they differ from the FR Metal Top Buckle?

In material and lock: Safety has a plastic buckle with a button, Metal Top Buckle has a metal latch. Both sets have a 21 mm strap.
