In brief

Rollerblade Lightning shock absorber is a pair of original rubber heel pads, fitted on the bottom of the shell under the liner of Lightning skates. They dampen small shocks, fill the free space under the heel and improve its stabilisation. The lime set for the left and right skate presses in without tools. It fits Lightning hardboots, including the 90 and 110.

Who it’s for

  • You skate on Lightning skates, feel harder landings and your feet tire faster than at the start — the factory rubber may have compressed after hundreds of kilometres.
  • You want to restore cushioning under the heel without replacing the whole boot.
  • You prefer to replace the part yourself: you press the absorber in under the liner in a dozen or so seconds, without glue or screws.

When to choose something else

  • You have Twister skates or another Rollerblade model — the absorber is matched only to Lightning shells, other constructions have a different boot bottom. You will find other parts in skate parts.

Key features

Anatomical shape, separate left and right
The absorber fits the factory moulded recesses in the bottom of the boot, so it sits in the heel seat and does not shift.
Flexible rubber
It absorbs small shocks from the chassis and softens hard impacts on the heel, which reduces foot fatigue on long skates.
Fills the space under the heel
The rubber takes up the empty space under the heel, so the foot sits more securely.
Press-fit mounting
You put it in under the liner, without tools, glue or screws.
Original Rollerblade part
A factory element matched to the inside of the Lightning shell.

Choosing your size

Choose the absorber size by the EU size of your skate: 220 mm for skates EU 35–36, 230 mm for EU 36.5–37, 250 mm for EU 38–41 (insoles 240, 250 and 260 mm), 290 mm for EU 42–45 (insoles 270, 280 and 290 mm), 310 mm for EU 45.5–48.5 (insoles 300, 310 and 320 mm).

If you are not sure what size your shell is, bring your skates to our shop in Poznań or Wrocław — we will match the absorber on the spot.

Care and servicing

Rubber compresses and hardens over time. When landings get harder and your feet tire faster, replace the absorbers: take out the liner, remove the old element from the recess in the heel and press in a new one.

Questions and answers

Where is the shock absorber fitted?

In the shell, on the bottom, under the liner, in the anatomical seat in the heel. You press it in by hand, without glue or screws.

Which absorber size should I choose?

Choose it by the EU size of your skate according to the size table in the sizing section. For example, a 250 mm absorber fits skates EU 38–41, and 290 mm fits EU 42–45.

Does the absorber fit Twister or other Rollerblade skates?

No. It is matched to Lightning shells, for example the Lightning 90 and Lightning 110. Other constructions have a different boot bottom.

What is in the set?

One pair: an absorber for the left and one for the right skate.

When should I replace the absorbers?

When landings are harder and your feet tire faster than before. The rubber compresses and hardens after hundreds of kilometres, and a new one restores comfort.
