In brief

The Impala Kid's Protective Set kids' pads in black are a classic black set of three pads for kids: for the knees, elbows and wrists. Durable plastic caps protect against grazes, the lycra underneath improves ventilation, and the elastic cuffs stop the pads sliding down in a fall. They work on inline skates, roller skates, skateboards and ice skates.

Brand: Impala
Model: Kid's Protective Set
Colour: black
Set contents: knee, elbow and wrist pads
Construction: plastic caps, lycra lining, elastic cuffs; anatomically contoured knee pads, flexible “sock”-type elbow pads, wrist guards with a splint
Fastening: velcro straps (three on the wrist guards)

Who it’s for

Your child is starting to skate on inline or roller skates and you want to cover their knees, elbows and wrists straight away.
Your child moves from skates to a scooter or skateboard and needs one set of pads for everything.
You prefer black, which goes with every helmet and pair of skates and shows the dirt less.

When to choose something else

The pads are for an adult — see the Impala Protective Set pads, black.

Key features

Knees, elbows and wrists in one set: You protect the three places that hit the ground first when you fall off skates, without choosing pads separately.
Durable plastic caps: The hard shell takes the impact and slides over the surface instead of tearing the skin in a fall.
Lycra lining: There is lycra on the skin side, which lets air through, so your child sweats less during long play.
Contoured knee pads, flexible elbow pads: The knee pads have an anatomical shape, and the elbow pads have a “sock” construction that wraps around the arm — the pads do not twist when bent.
Wrist guards with a splint and three straps: The splint limits bending of the hand when you put it out to break a fall, and three straps let you tighten the guard on a slim wrist.
Velcro straps and elastic cuffs: They keep the pads on the joints during a fall too, so the protection does not slip at the key moment.

Choosing your size

Sizes are letter sizes, in the kids' size range. Choose them by circumference, not by your child's age: measure the knee circumference at the middle of the kneecap and the elbow circumference with the arm slightly bent.

Do not buy pads to grow into — ones that are too loose slip in a fall and expose the joint. If your child falls between sizes, try both on in our shop in Poznań or Wrocław.

Care and servicing

After skating, undo the velcro straps and dry the pads in a well-ventilated place, away from a radiator. Fasten the straps before putting the pads in a bag, so they do not pick up fibres.

Questions and answers

How do I choose the size of pads for a child?

By circumference, not age. Measure the knee circumference at the middle of the kneecap and the elbow with the arm slightly bent, and it is best to try the set on with your child in our shop in Poznań or Wrocław.

Will the set work for a scooter and a skateboard?

Yes. The pads are intended for inline skates, roller skates, skateboards, scooters and ice skates.

Is there the same set for adults?

Yes, it is the Impala Protective Set — the same arrangement of knee, elbow and wrist pads in adult sizing, also in the black version.

Can I exchange the size if it does not fit?

Yes, through a return and a new order. You have 14 days to withdraw from the contract, and the buyer covers the return shipping.
