In brief

MPC Black Magic 125 mm XX-Firm wheels are a set of 8 speed skating wheels, with two-layer Dual Density polyurethane of approx. 88A hardness and a light composite core. One wheel weighs approx. 180 g. The large diameter gives high speed with low rolling resistance in marathons and long training sessions on smooth asphalt.

Who it’s for

  • You race marathons and long-distance races on asphalt and need wheels that hold a high speed with low rolling resistance.
  • You do speed training and intensive sessions on smooth asphalt or a track and want hard polyurethane that loses little on push-off.
  • You have skates with a frame for 125 mm wheels and are replacing a worn set with the same size.

When to choose something else

  • You skate in the city, on cobbles and uneven asphalt — a hard wheel dampens bumps less well and loses grip. See skate wheels with a lower hardness.
  • You race on a track with a 110 mm diameter limit — there you need 110 mm wheels or smaller.

Key features

125 mm diameter
A larger wheel covers a longer distance in one revolution, so at the same pace it turns more slowly and offers less rolling resistance. It matters most over long distances.
Dual Density construction
Two layers of polyurethane combine grip with ride comfort.
XX-Firm hardness
Hard polyurethane flexes less on push-off, so less energy is lost and the wheel wears more slowly.
Ultra High-Rebound polyurethane
The springy compound returns push-off energy and lets you accelerate briskly.
Light composite core
A stiff core limits energy loss and keeps the wheel stable at high speeds.

Care and servicing

The wheels wear mainly on the inner edge. Every so often, swap their positions and flip them to the other side so that they wear evenly.

Questions and answers

Will 125 mm wheels fit my skates?

Only if the frame allows such a diameter. Check the largest wheels your frame takes — a smaller frame will not accept them. If in doubt, ask in our shop in Poznań or Wrocław.

Are these wheels suitable for city skating?

No. They are hard wheels for speed skating, for smooth asphalt and tracks. Softer wheels are better on cobbles and uneven surfaces.

How much does one wheel weigh?

About 180 g.

Can you match spacers to these wheels?

Yes, as part of the separate service “Wheel core measurement and spacer matching”, which you add to your order.

Can I return the wheels?

Yes. You have 14 days to withdraw from the contract (return), and the buyer covers the return shipping.
