In brief
Replacing standard laces with waxed ones on ice skates is a service in which we choose the length of CCM laces for your skates and fit them in place of the factory ones. Waxed laces hold the knot better, do not loosen while you skate and do not absorb moisture. The original laces stay in the box, and you choose the colour of the new ones when you order.

Who it’s for
- You are buying new ice skates from us and want waxed laces from your first skate, instead of the factory ones.
- The laces in your skates loosen while you skate and you have to keep adjusting them.
- You have older skates and need waxed laces of the right length — in the order comment you give the model and size of your skates.
- You play hockey or figure skate and care about a firm, even lacing of the boot.
When to choose something else
- You are looking for laces for inline skates — this service is for ice skates, and you will find inline skate laces in the inline skate laces category.
Key features
- Layer of wax
- A waxed lace holds the knot and does not loosen in the eyelets, so the lacing stays as tight as you set it before skating.
- They do not absorb moisture
- On the ice, laces come into contact with water and snow; waxed ones do not soak up, so after skating they are not wet and heavy.
- Length matched to the skates
- We choose laces for the model and size so that they are neither too short to tie nor too long to wrap around the cuff.
- Selection and fitting included in the service
- You order branded CCM laces, and we take care of choosing the length and fitting them to the skates; the factory laces stay in the box.
- Choice of colour
- You specify the colour when ordering, and in the shop you can choose it on the spot and compare standard and waxed laces.

Care and servicing

Questions and answers
Can I order waxed laces for my old skates?
Yes. You can order the service without buying new skates — give the model and size of your skates in the order comment and we will choose the right length of laces.
Are waxed laces better than ordinary ones?
Yes, if you care about a stable lacing of the boot. The wax makes the laces hold the knot better, not loosen while you skate and not absorb moisture.
What happens to the factory laces?
They stay in the box the skates came in, so you can go back to them at any time.
Will you do the service in the shop?
Yes, in our shops in Poznań and Wrocław. You can choose the colour on the spot and see the difference between standard and waxed laces.
