In brief

The FR Downtown Emperor 90 mm / 85A is a set of 4 green wheels for intense urban skating, skate-cross and freeride, developed with the French skater Florian Petitcollin. They have an elliptical profile, a strong 5-spoke core and an abrasion-resistant compound. The manufacturer recommends 10.17 mm spacers, which are not included in the set. For a pair of four-wheel skates you need two sets.

Who it’s for

You skate fast around the city and want wheels that hold confidently in corners at higher speed.
You have a frame for 90 mm wheels and are replacing a worn set or adding a second colour.
You skate skate-cross, freeride or jump and need a strong core.

When to choose something else

Your frame is built for 80 mm wheels — a 90 mm wheel usually won't fit in it. See 80 mm wheels.
You are only learning to skate — the manufacturer aims this model at intermediate and advanced skaters.

Key features

Elliptical profile: A narrow contact area gives confident handling even at high speed.
Strong 5-spoke core: A rigid support for the tread, useful for jumps and sharp corners.
Abrasion-resistant compound: The wheel loses diameter more slowly in everyday skating on asphalt and paving.
85A hardness: A versatile hardness for the city: it combines grip in corners with durability.
Florian Petitcollin's pro model: The wheels were created in cooperation with the French champion of urban skating, skate-cross and free jump.

Care and servicing

Wheels wear mainly on the inner edge. From time to time swap their positions and turn them around to the other side so they wear evenly.

Questions and answers

How many wheels are in the set?

4 pieces. For a pair of four-wheel skates you need two sets (8 wheels), for a pair of three-wheel skates — 6 wheels, so also two sets.

Are spacers and bearings included?

No. The set is just 4 wheels. The manufacturer recommends 10.17 mm spacers for them, which are not included; you move the bearings over from your old wheels or choose them separately.

Which skates take 90 mm wheels?

Skates with a frame designed for 90 mm wheels or larger. Check the largest diameter given for your frame — 90 mm wheels usually don't fit frames for 4 × 80 mm.

Can you match spacers to these wheels?

Yes, as part of a separate service, “Measuring wheel cores and matching spacers”. Measuring with spacers for 4 wheels costs PLN 70.
