In brief

The FR Skates Turbo Spin boots are black skate boots with a low, fully carbon shell without a cuff and an integrated liner. They were made for advanced skaters who train speed slalom, skate cross and fast urban skating. The 165 mm mounting standard takes most available frames. The set contains the boots only: you choose frames, wheels and bearings separately.

Who it’s for

  • You train speed slalom or skate cross and want a boot that doesn't restrict your ankle's movement.
  • You build your own set: you already have a frame with 165 mm mounting, wheels and bearings, or want to choose them to suit your skating style.
  • You skate fast in town, have mastered your technique and are moving from a higher shell to a low carbon boot.

When to choose something else

  • You are learning to skate or need ankle support — a low shell without a cuff doesn't give it; see urban and freeskate skates.
  • You are looking for complete skates ready to ride — these are boots only; ready-made models are in the speed skates category.

Key features

Fully carbon shell
Carbon is light and stiff, so the force of your push goes to the frame instead of being lost in a flexing boot.
Low profile without a cuff
Your ankle moves freely, which lets you bend your leg deeply and change edges quickly between the cones.
Dial Closure System, laces and top buckle
The dial tightens the boot with one hand, and the laces and buckle secure the rest, so your foot doesn't shift in the shell.
165 mm mounting
The mounting that most frames fit, so you choose the frame length and wheel layout for your discipline.
Integrated liner
The padding is permanently joined to the shell and stays comfortable even during long training sessions.
Reinforced toe (toe cap)
It protects the toe, which often scrapes the surface in slalom and falls, so the boot stays durable for longer.

Choosing your size

Choose the size by foot length. Place a sheet of paper against a wall on a hard floor, stand with your heel against the wall, mark the end of your longest toe and measure the distance. Compare the result with the length given next to the size; if your feet differ in length, go by the longer one.

When trying on, fasten the boots well, stand and bend your knees firmly until your shins rest against the tongues. In this position your toes should be straight — they may touch the front, but they must not curl. This is normal: boots of this class mould to the shape of your foot as you skate.

Measure your foot in millimetres (heel against the wall, to the tip of your longest toe) and choose an insole equal to that length or 2–5 mm longer. Full measuring guide

Care and servicing

After skating, unfasten the boots and leave them to dry in a ventilated place, away from a radiator — the integrated liner cannot be taken out to dry.

Questions and answers

Are frames and wheels included?

No. Turbo Spin is the Boot Only version: you get the boots only, and you choose the frames, wheels and bearings separately.

Which frame fits the Turbo Spin?

A frame with 165 mm mounting. Most frames come in this standard, so you choose the wheel layout according to what you skate.

Are these boots suitable for a beginner?

No. A low shell without a cuff doesn't support the ankle, so it requires a developed technique and strong ankle joints.

Can the liner be taken out?

No. The liner is integrated with the shell.

Can I return the boots if the size doesn't fit?

Yes, you have 14 days to withdraw from the contract (return); the buyer covers the return shipping. Exchanging for another size means returning the item and placing a new order.
