When to choose something else

You skate in the rain or on a wet route – the Enigma is for dry only; for wet surfaces there is the MPC Storm Surge 110 mm XGrip.
Your track is extremely smooth – then the Enigma 110 mm XX-Firm will be better; for uneven or slightly rough routes MPC specifies Firm hardness.

Key features

Double Layer construction: Two layers of polyurethane of different hardness: the softer inner one gives grip and cushioning, the hard outer one speed and low rolling resistance.
New hub: Lighter and stiffer than on previous models, which improves the wheel’s balance and its response when accelerating.
X-Firm hardness: Harder than Firm and softer than XX-Firm: for dry, smooth and fast tracks and good-quality asphalt.
25% higher wear resistance: In laboratory tests the Enigma lasted 25% longer than previous MPC models, so the set needs replacing less often.
Mixed sets: You can combine the Enigma with other MPC wheels, e.g. Enigma at the front and VooDoo at the back, to match grip and speed to the route.
Marks of authenticity: The ENIGMA print on the side of the wheel and anti-counterfeit features let you tell the original.

Care and servicing

Clean the bearings regularly and swap the wheels round so that they wear evenly. Skate on them in the dry only.

What surface is X-Firm hardness for?

Dry, smooth and fast tracks and good-quality asphalt. For uneven or slightly rough routes Firm will be better, and for extremely smooth ones XX-Firm.

Are the Enigma 110 mm suitable for a marathon?

Yes. This is the size chosen for marathons and long races, where efficient rolling and stability over many kilometres count.

How does the Enigma differ from VooDoo and Black Magic?

In generation. The Enigma has a new hub, a new polyurethane composition and 25% higher wear resistance; VooDoo and Black Magic are earlier lines on older urethane formulas and with a different hub construction.

Can I skate on them in the wet?

No. The Enigma is for dry asphalt and track only. For rain MPC has a separate Storm Surge XGrip series.

What other diameters does the Enigma come in?

90 mm and 100 mm, and in 110 mm also in a separate Turbo version with a different hub geometry. A smaller size in the same hardness is the Enigma 90 mm X-Firm.
