XGrip rain compound: Polyurethane developed for wet surfaces: together with the soft inner ring it spreads the pressure over a larger area and increases friction even on flooded asphalt.
Multi-Layer construction: Rain wheels are softer and wear faster than dry ones, but the multi-layer build lets them keep their properties through many intensive training sessions.
125 mm diameter: A larger wheel rolls for longer and gives higher speed and stability at a deep lean — hence the choice for marathons and road races.
For a mixed setup: When the route alternates between dry and wet, Storm Surge is fitted at the front for grip and VooDoo at the back for speed.
Rain Edition tint: The blue/clear colour sets the rain set apart from wheels for dry surfaces, so you will not mix them up in your bag before the start.

Care and servicing

After every ride in the rain, take off the wheels, dry them and check the bearings. Do not store them wet in your bag — moisture damages metal parts and weakens the hub.

Questions and answers

Do 125 mm wheels fit every frame?

Not every one — they fit frames in a 3 × 125 mm configuration. Make sure the frame and boot leave enough room for such a large diameter.

Can they be used on dry asphalt?

No. XGrip is a compound for wet surfaces; on dry asphalt it wears out quickly and loses grip.

How do they differ from the smaller Storm Surge sizes?

A larger wheel means longer rolling, higher speed and stability at a deep lean. 90 and 100 mm work better on technical tracks and shorter distances, 125 mm in marathons and road races.

Will they work when the route is only partly wet?

Yes, although they work best on an evenly wet surface. If dry and wet sections alternate, consider a mixed setup: Storm Surge and VooDoo.

Are they heavier than the dry VooDoo 125 mm wheels?

Slightly, because the XGrip compound has a denser structure. The difference does not affect ride comfort.
