In brief

Rollerblade Moonbeams LED white 80 mm / 82A light-up wheels are a set of 4 polyurethane wheels for skates. The LEDs are activated by magnetic spacers, so the wheels light up in motion without batteries. The spacers also act as spacers on 8 mm axles, and the included reducer spacers let you fit the wheels on 6 mm axles. For night skating, fitness and recreational skating.

Brand: Rollerblade
Model: Moonbeams LED
Diameter: 80 mm
Hardness: 82A
Number of pieces: 4 (set for one four-wheel skate)
Intended use: night skating, faster recreational and fitness skating, city skating

Who it’s for

You skate after dark — on night skates, in the city or on the path — and want to be visible from afar.
You have skates with a frame for 80 mm wheels and are looking for a replacement that lights up and needs no charging.
Your skates have 6 mm axles — the reducer spacers are in the set, so you do not need to look for them separately.

When to choose something else

Your frame takes 72 mm at most — the same series in the smaller diameter is Moonbeams LED 72 mm.

Key features

Light without batteries: The LEDs switch on by themselves when the wheel turns. There is nothing to charge or replace.
Magnetic spacers: They activate the LEDs and at the same time replace ordinary spacers between the bearings on an 8 mm axle.
Reducer spacers for 6 mm axles: They are in the set, so you can fit the wheels on skates with thinner axles too.
82A hardness: A little softer than the popular 84–85A: it grips the surface well while keeping reasonable durability.
80 mm diameter: A size for faster recreational and fitness skating that is still manoeuvrable in the city.

Care and servicing

The wheels wear mainly on the inner edge — swap them around and rotate them from time to time. When moving the bearings across, make sure the magnetic spacer goes back between them, because it is what activates the LEDs.

Questions and answers

Do the wheels need batteries or charging?

No. The magnetic spacers activate the LEDs as you skate, so the wheels light up without batteries or charging.

Can I fit them on skates with 6 mm axles?

Yes. The set includes 4 reducer spacers for 6 mm axles. On 8 mm axles you fit the wheels with the magnetic spacers.

Are 4 wheels enough for a pair of skates?

Not if you have four-wheel skates. Four pieces fit one skate, so for a pair you need two sets.

Are bearings included?

No. The pack contains the wheels, magnetic spacers and reducer spacers; you move the bearings across from your old wheels or choose them separately in the bearings section.

How do they differ from Moonbeams LED 72 mm?

In diameter. The 80 mm wheels roll further and cope better with uneven ground, but need a frame for that diameter; the smaller ones are Moonbeams LED 72 mm / 82A.
