In brief

CCM Next Junior hockey skates are for younger players who skate recreationally at the ice rink, play pond hockey or glide across a lake. The 3D injection-moulded boot, HD microfibre padding with EVA foam and a 7 mm felt tongue give comfort, and the CCM Speedblade blade is steel and non-replaceable. They must be sharpened before the first outing.

Who it’s for

  • You are buying hockey skates for a child who skates recreationally at the ice rink.
  • Your child plays pond hockey or glides across a frozen lake and needs solid skates.
  • You are looking for skates in the junior category, that is, for a player who has outgrown the smallest youth sizes but has not yet reached intermediate.

When to choose something else

  • The player trains at a club and plays matches — this skate is intended for recreational skating and pond play, so look at higher models in the hockey skates category.
  • The player already wears intermediate sizes — see CCM Next Intermediate.

Key features

3D injection-moulded boot
A shape matched to the foot, and the textured surface makes the boot more durable.
HD microfibre and EVA foam padding
The microfibre is abrasion-resistant, with an extra layer of EVA foam beneath it, and soft cushions around the ankle give comfort on longer sessions.
7 mm felt tongue with a foam layer
Thick felt with foam spreads the pressure of the laces across the instep.
CCM Speedblade blade with a raised holder
A steel blade in a holder that increases the tilt angle. It is non-replaceable: when it wears down you can keep sharpening it, but you cannot replace the steel on its own.
Light CCM insole
An insole shaped to the foot complements the soft padding of the boot.

Choosing your size

Measure your child's foot in centimetres, from the heel to the end of the longest toe, and compare the result with the length given for each size. Hockey skates have their own size scale, so do not carry over the number of your everyday shoes one to one.

Do not buy skates “to grow into”: a boot that is too big does not hold the ankle and makes it harder to control the blade. If your child's foot falls between two sizes, try both on in our shop in Poznań or Wrocław.

Measure your foot in millimetres (heel against the wall, to the tip of your longest toe) and choose an insole equal to that length or 2–5 mm longer. Full measuring guide

Care and servicing

Sharpen new skates before the first outing. After every outing, dry the blade and let the boot dry so that the steel does not rust and the inside does not pick up odours.

Questions and answers

Do CCM Next Junior skates need sharpening before the first outing?

Yes. New skates need sharpening before use. You can add sharpening to the order or have it done in our shop in Poznań or Wrocław.

Can the blade in these skates be replaced?

No. The CCM Speedblade blade is non-replaceable. You can sharpen it, but you cannot replace the steel on its own.

What are these skates suitable for?

Recreational skating at the ice rink, playing pond hockey and skating on a frozen lake. For regular club training and matches, choose a higher model.

How do I choose the size of skates for my child?

Measure your child's foot in centimetres and compare it with the length given for each size. Do not carry over the number of your everyday shoes one to one and do not buy to grow into; if in doubt, try the skates on in the shop.

Can I return the skates if the size does not fit?

Yes, you have 14 days to withdraw from the contract (return) without giving a reason, and the buyer covers the return shipping. Exchanging a size means a return and a new order.
