In brief

CCM Tacks AS-550 INT REG are hockey skates for learning, recreational play and training, in the intermediate category, between junior and senior. The 3D Injected Boot has a core with a hardness of 115, an HD Microfiber liner and a 5 mm Felt Tongue, and the Speedblade blade is stainless steel. New skates need sharpening before the first outing.

Brand: CCM
Model: Tacks AS-550
Age category: intermediate (INT)
Fit: standard (REG), Intermediate Fit cut
Boot: 3D Injected Boot, core with a hardness of 115
Interior: HD Microfiber liner

Who it’s for

You are a teenager or an adult and have outgrown junior-size hockey skates.
You are learning to play hockey, skate recreationally or go to training, and need a boot that holds the foot steadily.
You have a standard-width foot and are looking for CCM skates from the Tacks series.

When to choose something else

You have a foot in a junior size — see AS-550 JR.
You need a senior size — choose the right category among the hockey skates.

Key features

3D Injected Boot: The injection-moulded construction of the boot wraps the foot anatomically, so the skate holds it more securely in turns and stops.
Core with a hardness of 115: Gives stable support and helps transfer the energy of the push-off to the ice.
HD Microfiber liner: The soft microfibre is abrasion-resistant, so the interior does not wear through quickly and does not chafe the foot.
5 mm Felt Tongue: A felt tongue cushions and protects the instep from the pressure of the laces.
CCM Speedblade blade: A stainless steel blade with a raised profile, which makes turning easier.
Intermediate Fit cut: A construction between junior and senior, for players who no longer fit into JR sizes.

Care and servicing

After skating, dry the blades and let the boot dry so that the steel does not rust and the inside does not pick up odours. Have sharpening done professionally — unprofessional sharpening can ruin the profile of the blade.

Questions and answers

What do the abbreviations INT and REG in the name mean?

INT is intermediate, the category between JR (junior) and SR (senior). REG is the fit for a standard-width foot.

Are the skates sharpened and ready to use?

No. New skates are not sharpened at the factory, so they must be sharpened before the first outing. You can choose sharpening when ordering or have it done in the shop.

Who is the Intermediate category for?

For teenagers and adult players who have outgrown the junior versions. The model works well for learning, recreational play and training.

How do I choose the size of these skates?

Measure your foot in centimetres and compare it with the insole length given for each size. Hockey skates have their own scale, so do not carry over the number of your everyday shoes one to one.

Can I return the skates if the size does not fit?

Yes, you have 14 days to withdraw from the contract (return) without giving a reason, and the buyer covers the return shipping. Exchanging a size means a return and a new order.
