In brief

The black/lavender Rollerblade Microblade SL are adjustable kids' skates for learning to skate. They have four steps of size adjustment, a low-set Lo-Bal Composite frame, 72 mm / 80A wheels, SG3 bearings and a factory-fitted brake. The fastening is laces, a 45° velcro strap and a top buckle. You choose the insole length range on the product page.

Who it’s for

  • You are looking for skates for a child who is just starting and will skate at moderate speed on paths and squares.
  • You want a brake fitted straight away, with no fitting it yourself.
  • You expect the skates to last several seasons — the size is changed with a button in four steps.

When to choose something else

  • Your child skates around town and in a skatepark — the hard Rollerblade Apex on an aluminium frame will work better.

Key features

Four steps of adjustment
You press the button and lengthen the shell; markers by the toes make it easy to set both skates to the same size.
Lo-Bal Composite frame
Set low, so the centre of gravity is close to the ground and it is easier for your child to find their balance.
Factory-fitted brake
The skates are ready for learning to brake from the first outing.
Junior Fit lining
Breathable and soft; the stiff shell underneath supports it.
Laces, 45° strap and buckle
The velcro strap pulls the heel back into the boot, and the top buckle closes the cuff around the ankle.
Switch to 3 × 80 mm
The 3WD system lets you later change the layout to three larger wheels.

Choosing your size

A Microblade SL size is an insole length range, e.g. 175–205 mm (EU 28–32), 210–230 mm (EU 33–36.5) or 230–260 mm (EU 36.5–40.5); you choose it on the product page.

Measure your child's foot in millimetres and choose the range in which the result falls in the lower half. That leaves room to grow, and the skates last longer.

The size is set with the button; markers by the toes show which step the boot is on.

Care and servicing

Every few weeks of skating, rotate the wheels between positions and swap sides — they wear on the inner edge. After skating in the wet, take out the bearings and dry them the same day.

Questions and answers

Does the Microblade SL have a brake?

Yes. The brake is included and is fitted at the factory, so you don't need to screw it on before the first skate.

How do I choose the Microblade SL size?

A size is an insole length range, e.g. 175–205 mm (EU 28–32), 210–230 mm (EU 33–36.5) or 230–260 mm (EU 36.5–40.5). Choose by foot length in millimetres.

Can you switch to three wheels?

Yes. The frame is compatible with the 3WD system, which lets you change the layout to 3 × 80 mm. From the factory the skates run on four 72 mm wheels.

What kind of child is this model for?

A beginner. The manufacturer aims the Microblade SL at children who are starting to skate and learning the basics at moderate speed.
