In brief

The Rollerblade Twister XT are freeskate skates with a hard boot, a 243 mm aluminium frame and Hydrogen Spectre 80 mm / 85A wheels on ILQ-9 bearings. They work well in the city: quick turns, skating on uneven surfaces, first jumps. The brake is in the box, for self-fitting.

Who it’s for

  • You skate around town and need manoeuvrability and a boot that withstands kerbs and falls.
  • You have your first season behind you and want skates you won't outgrow after a year.
  • You care about gear in which every part can be replaced: the frame, buckles, liner, wheels.

When to choose something else

  • You plan mostly long, smooth routes of 30 km or more — fitness skates on larger wheels will be more comfortable.
  • You are only starting and looking for the cheapest entry — see skates for beginners.

Key features

Hard shell with Anti-Torsion Box
The stiffening under the sole limits twisting of the boot, so the skate responds immediately to foot movement.
Hydrogen Spectre 80 mm / 85A wheels
A compound made in the USA. 85A is a universal hardness: it grips on asphalt and doesn't wear out in a month.
Skate Liner Plus with V-cut
An anatomical inner boot; the cut-out at the back lets you flex the ankle further without losing lateral support.
Footboard Sizer
A replaceable shim under the insole adjusts the volume of the boot by half a size — useful in double sizes.
Shock Eraser under the heel
An insert that damps vibration on cobbles and uneven asphalt.
Shell ready for 3WD
After changing the frame you can skate on three 110 mm wheels. The 3WD frame is sold separately.

Choosing your size

The Twister XT comes in double sizes: one shell covers two adjacent numbers, and the fit is made with the Footboard Sizer shim.

The manufacturer assigns each size a foot length range ending at the upper insole value. Example: size 250–255 mm (EU 39–40) is for a foot from 246 to 255 mm.

If you have a wide foot or a high instep and fall on the boundary of two sizes, take the larger one.

Measure your foot in millimetres (heel against the wall, to the tip of your longest toe) and choose an insole equal to that length or 2–5 mm longer. Full measuring guide

Care and servicing

Every 20–30 hours of skating, rotate the wheels (swap the first with the third, the second with the fourth, and swap sides) — they wear on the inner edge. After skating in the rain, take out the bearings and dry them the same day. Before your first skate, take the paper stuffing out of the toes.

Questions and answers

Are the Twister XT suitable for a beginner?

Yes, if you intend to skate regularly. A hard boot holds the ankle better than soft fitness skates, which makes learning easier. Fit the brake from the box to start with.

Is the brake included?

Yes. It is in the box together with a longer axle and is fitted on the right skate with an Allen key. The skates have no brake from the factory.

What is the largest wheel I can fit?

On the factory 243 mm frame — 80 mm. To skate on 3 × 110 mm you need to change the frame to a 3WD model; the shell is prepared for it.

How does the 243 mm frame differ from the 255 mm?

The longer frame (255 mm) is fitted in sizes EU 44.5–47.5. It gives more stability with a large foot at the cost of a little manoeuvrability.
