In brief

Luminous LED 80 mm / 85A fluorescent white + green LED light-up wheels are a set of 4 polyurethane wheels with a bullet profile. The green LEDs are switched on by the wheel’s motion, with no batteries, and once exposed to light the white material gives off a soft green glow in the dark. The set includes 4 magnetic spacers; the wheels fit 608 bearings and 8 mm axles.

Who it’s for

  • You skate in the city in the evening or on night skates and want your skates to be visible from afar.
  • You have skates with a frame for 80 mm wheels and 8 mm axles, and the factory wheels are due for replacement.
  • You want the effect also when you are standing still — the exposed white polyurethane glows in the dark without the wheels turning.
  • You do not want to remember about charging or replacing batteries.

When to choose something else

  • Your skates have 6 mm axles — for fitting you additionally need reducer spacers, see spacers and axles.
  • You prefer coloured polyurethane to white — the same diameter is also available in, among others, blue and green.

Key features

Green LEDs switched on by motion
They glow when the wheel turns. They have no batteries, so you charge and replace nothing.
Fluorescent white polyurethane
Once exposed to light, it gives off a soft green light in the dark, even when your skates are standing still.
85A hardness
A compromise between rolling speed and grip on asphalt and paving stones.
Bullet profile
Helps you roll over uneven ground and keeps you stable on the straight.
Magnetic spacers in the set
They are what activates the LEDs, so you fit them between the bearings instead of ordinary spacers.
608 bearing seats
You can move classic ABEC or ILQ bearings across from your current wheels.

Care and servicing

From time to time swap the wheels around, because they wear mainly on the inner edge. Fluorescent polyurethane glows in the dark only after exposure to light, so leave the wheels in the light before an evening skate.

Questions and answers

Do the wheels need batteries or charging?

No. The green LEDs are activated by the wheel’s motion and the included magnetic spacer, so there are no batteries and no charging.

Do the wheels glow when I am standing still?

Yes, but more faintly. The LEDs work only in motion, while the fluorescent white polyurethane gives off a soft green glow in the dark at standstill too, once exposed to light.

Are 4 wheels enough for a pair of skates?

No. Four wheels are a set for one four-wheel skate; for a pair you need two sets.

Can I fit them on 6 mm axles?

Yes, but only with reducer spacers, which you buy separately. As supplied, the wheels fit 8 mm axles.

Which bearings fit these wheels?

608 standard, i.e. classic ABEC and ILQ bearings. Bearings are not included — you move them across from your old wheels or choose them separately.
