In brief

Who it’s for

  • You are buying your child's first skates for paths and estate alleys.
  • You want the skates to last more than one summer — one pair covers four sizes.
  • You care about simple operation: the size is changed with one button, and markers by the toes show the setting.

When to choose something else

  • Your child skates around town, in a skatepark or goes to freestyle classes — the Rollerblade Apex with its hard shell and aluminium frame will be stiffer.
  • Your child's foot is smaller than the smallest range of these skates — smaller sizes are in the Microblade 3WD.

Key features

One-button adjustment
After you press the button the boot lengthens; markers by the toes show which size it is set to.
Low Lo-Bal frame
The foot stands closer to the ground, so it is easier for your child to keep their balance.
High cuff
It supports the ankle while your child learns to push off and brake.
Junior Fit insole and engineered mesh
The soft, fitted lining doesn't press, and the mesh lets air through on warm days.
Buckle, 45° strap and laces
Three fastening points; the strap over the instep pulls the heel back into the boot.
Frame compatible with 3WD
When your child gains confidence, you can switch to a layout of three 80 mm wheels.

Choosing your size

A size is an insole length range, e.g. 210–230 mm (EU 33–36.5) or 230–260 mm (EU 36.5–40.5); you choose it on the product page.

Measure your child's foot in millimetres — heel against a wall, a mark at the end of the longest toe — and use the longer foot.

The foot should fall in the lower half of the range: that leaves room to grow and the skates last longer. With a foot of about 230 mm take the larger range, because the smaller one would be set to the maximum straight away.

Measure your foot in millimetres (heel against the wall, to the tip of your longest toe) and choose an insole equal to that length or 2–5 mm longer. Full measuring guide

Care and servicing

Every few weeks of skating, rotate the wheels between positions and swap sides — they wear on the inner edge. After skating in the wet, take out the bearings and dry them the same day.

Questions and answers

Which Microblade size should I choose?

The one in which your child's foot falls in the lower half of the range. For example, a 212–220 mm foot fits the 210–230 mm range, and a 230–245 mm foot fits the 230–260 mm range.

How is the size changed?

With one button: after you press it the boot lengthens. Markers by the toes show the set size, so it is easy to set both skates the same.

Can three wheels be fitted later?

Yes. The frame is compatible with the 3WD system and lets you switch to a 3 × 80 mm layout. From the factory the skates have four 72 mm wheels.

How does the Microblade differ from the Apex?

The Microblade has a soft boot and SG3 bearings — these are skates for learning and recreation. The Apex has a hard shell, an aluminium frame and SG7 bearings, so it copes better with urban skating and the skatepark.
