In brief

The Rollerblade Apex in platinum/coral are adjustable kids' skates with a hard boot, a 3WD/4WD aluminium frame, 80A wheels and SG7 bearings. One pair covers four sizes, and you choose the range (e.g. EU 29–32 or EU 37–40) on the product page. The wheel diameter depends on the range and is 68, 72 or 76 mm. A brake is included, for self-fitting.

Who it’s for

  • You are buying skates for a child who skates on pavements, paths and in a skatepark, and want a boot that holds the ankle firmly.
  • You are looking for one pair for several seasons — each range covers four full sizes.
  • Your child is starting to learn or has outgrown their first soft skates and wants to try urban skating or freestyle.

When to choose something else

  • You are looking for simpler skates for relaxed recreation — the Rollerblade Microblade with a soft boot is enough.
  • Your child's foot is smaller than the smallest Apex range — smaller sizes are in the Microblade 3WD.

Key features

Hard, ventilated shell
A moulded hardboot stabilises the foot and ankle, which makes learning balance easier; the openings in the shell carry heat away.
Four-size adjustment
The boot lengthens with the foot, so one pair lasts several seasons.
Premium Junior liner
A welded sole, thicker lining and cushioning under the heel absorb vibration on uneven asphalt.
Three-point fastening
A top buckle with a lock, a 45° micro-buckle over the instep and laces — the heel doesn't lift in the boot.
3WD/4WD aluminium frame
Extruded aluminium is stiffer than composite, so your push-off isn't lost in the frame. You can skate on four or three wheels.
Wheels matched to the size
68, 72 or 76 mm — a smaller foot gets smaller wheels, so the skate stays low and is easier to control.

Choosing your size

An Apex size is an insole length range, e.g. 185–205 mm (EU 29–32), 210–230 mm (EU 33–36) or 235–255 mm (EU 37–40). Each covers four full sizes, and you choose the range on the product page.

Measure your child's foot in millimetres: heel against a wall, a sheet of paper on the floor, a mark at the end of the longest toe. Measure both feet and take the longer result.

Choose the range in which the foot falls in the lower half — then the skates last longer. Example: a 212 mm foot is the 210–230 mm range, with room for the following seasons.

The wheel diameter grows with the range: 68, 72 and 76 mm.

Measure your foot in millimetres (heel against the wall, to the tip of your longest toe) and choose an insole equal to that length or 2–5 mm longer. Full measuring guide

Care and servicing

Every few weeks of skating, rotate the wheels between positions and swap sides — they wear on the inner edge. After skating in the wet, take out the bearings and dry them the same day.

Questions and answers

How long will the Apex skates last?

One pair covers four full sizes, which usually means several seasons. They last longest if, at purchase, your child's foot falls in the lower half of the range.

Is the brake included?

Yes. The brake is included for self-fitting, so the skates can be used with or without it. It is worth fitting while learning.

Which range should I choose if the foot is about 205 mm?

It is the boundary of two ranges. The smaller one (185–205 mm) will be set to the maximum and will run out quickly, the larger one starts at 210 mm and for the first months will be a few millimetres too long. The surest way is to try both on in our shop in Poznań or Wrocław.

Can I skate the Apex on three wheels?

Yes, the frame is prepared for a layout with three or four wheels (3WD/4WD). The skates come with four wheels from the factory. The manufacturer's description does not give the wheel diameter for the 3WD layout for each size, so before buying wheels ask us about your range.

How do the Apex differ from the Microblade?

The Apex has a hard shell, an aluminium frame and SG7 bearings. The Microblade has a soft boot, a low Lo-Bal frame and SG3 bearings. The Apex copes better with urban skating and the skatepark, the Microblade is enough for recreation.
